The three Kirkwoods discuss it and agree that Sean is not to blame and they should treat him like a brother.The next day they meet for brunch at the hotel, Cecilia returns to Boston to close out the apartment and Sean goes home with the Kirkwoods. Jamie calls him "My twin brother from another mother." Kale finds Sean at the piano and they finally begin to bond. Kale offers piano lessons. When football starts Jamie and a boy named Jason Riley get in a fight after Riley hits Sean thinking he is Jamie. Jamie apologizes to Jason for the trash talk.

Synopsis: A Binghamton group story. Maddy tells Corbin she is 'late' and makes him buy a pregnancy testing kit. Corbin reflects that his relationship with Maddy is lacking the emotional content he wants and when the test comes back negative he breaks up with her. Later Corbin and Bell go to a party. Ryder Tipton hits on Corbin who is disgusted at the approach. Corbin looks for Bell to say he is going home but cannot find him and decides to leave alone. Looking for the bathroom before he goes he finds Ryder attempting to penetrate a resisting but apparently drunk Declan. Being unable to get any sense out of Declan, Corbin takes him home, out of further harm's way. Although Declan starts the night dressed and on the floor, by the morning he has undressed to only wearing his underwear and has moved himself into Corbin's bed. Gramps finds them together and does not approve.

Synopsis: Alec, Sasha and Micah are in Sanitaria Springs for the summer. Alec and Sasha will be working at the pool with Kale & Chase and have agreed with Jamie that Micah can spend time with him and his group. On the first day, Alec offers Micah the choice of staying at the Kirkwoods or going with him to the pool. Something in Alec's attitude makes Micah think Alec is expecting him to need to be with Alec at the pool. To be contrary and show he is not needy he says he will stay at the Kirkwoods although he has only met them briefly before. He immediately has second thoughts but won't give in to them. Through the day Micah finds himself in several difficult situations, some of which invoke a flight response. Lu and Jamie, and to a lesser extent Emily and Robin, help Micah get through these episodes. At night Micah visits Alec and Sasha in their bedroom and between them Micah makes sense of his day. Micah, unprompted, also manages to make two new friends about his age, but even that does not run smoothly.

Synopsis: Niki and his adoptive parents, Tom & Kevin travel to JFK to meet Matei, Niki's friend from the orphanage in Bucharest. Matei finds it difficult to accept the Buchanan's hospitality and the clothes and other things they buy for him, wondering what he will have to do in payback. Niki, now understanding Sasha's warnings in 'The Trouble with Pretending', realises Matei is more a brother than a boyfriend. Synopsis: A Binghamton/SS crossover story. It has been five months since Bellamy moved in with Corbin and his parents. Synopsis: It is the first day of the new school year. Leo is reflecting on an incident between himself and Henry that happened at Mia's recent party. Contraband booze had been discovered at the party and both boys had been grounded. Leo is recruited to show new 8th grade student Micah around the school.
